Burlingame Intermediate School is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and student-centered Physical Education Teacher to join our collaborative middle school team. Key Responsibilities & Duties

Core PE Instruction: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, CA State Standards-aligned physical education curriculum that promotes physical literacy, teamwork, and healthy habits for middle schoolers.

Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment in the gym, on the fields, and within the traditional classroom setting.

Assessment & Inclusivity: Utilize diverse assessment methods to track student progress and differentiate instruction to ensure all students—regardless of athletic ability—can succeed and feel valued.

Collaboration: Actively participate in staff meetings, department collaboration, and school-wide events to support the holistic mission of BIS.

Requirements / Qualifications

Credential: Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education.

EL Authorization: English Learner Authorization (CLAD/CTEL) required.

Experience: Previous experience teaching at the middle school level is highly preferred.

Key Attributes: Strong communication skills, excellent organizational ability, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for guiding early adolescents.

Burlingame School District is located on the beautiful San Francisco Peninsula within easy commuting distance of San Francisco and many other educational, cultural, and recreational interests.
